New Dvds from Amazon

I got home after a few days in Winthrop to find FIVE new Dvds arrived from Amazon.
They are:

Zodiac the brilliant thriller by David Fincher about the real life investigation of the Zodiac Killer
American Son, an excellent indie movie that you've never heard of about a young marines's final days before heading to Iraq

Red. Not the Bruce Willis action film or that Swedish movie. But an indie movie with Brian Cox and Tom Sizemore about a man looking for justice after his dog is shot by a teenage boy. I'm not going to post the trailer for that because the trailer spoils the entire movie. A film like this could have been identical to any other revenge/justice thriller besides the victim being a dog, but instead it chooses to not play it safe and we end up with a riveting movie with excellent performances.

Black Dynamite. This is one of the funniest comedies of all time. It's pure brilliant satire of the blaxpoitation genre. Unlike many comedies nowadays, Black Dynamite's humor doesn't rely on jokes about poop or cheap gags. Most of the humor comes from it's witty dialogue. It's a great time
No Country for Old Men. Winner of 4 Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Director, this is a masterpiece of a film. The film stars Josh Brolin, Javier Bardem (in an Oscar winning role) and Tommy Lee Jones. It tells the tale of the events that occur after a man steals 2 million dollars from a drug deal gone bad. This film is critcized for it's ending by many. It's deemed anti-climatic, but I thought that the ending was 100% brilliant. A real masterpiece of a film in my opinion.
Well, I guess that's all for now. Until next time
